Harvey Relief Effort

Once again Mother Nature has come to visit our southern shores in tragic fashion. Hurricane Harvey has and continues to wreak havoc on communities in both Texas and Louisiana bringing torrential rain and record-breaking floods. With over 11,000 people displaced and homeless and more in despair now is the time for all Kappa Men to stand in service of those in need.  With that said Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation are once again working together to bring hope and help to these communities under the iKare disaster relief initiative.

Through iKare our mission is to provide support and relief to the communities in Texas and Louisiana through direct financial support, resources and, when it is time, volunteers to assist with the rebuilding effort.  Right now our primary goal is to raise over 100,000 for iKare that will go directly to supporting the execution of Kappa's mission. Therefore we are asking all Brothers to help us reach the goal of 100,000 by making a contribution of any amount to the iKare initiative.

"I Can because iKare."

Whenever a disaster or crisis of this magnitude occurs, naturally, everyone wants to help. However, in order to maximize the impact of our efforts, it is imperative that we work on one accord. The iKare Initiative endeavors to unite the men of Kappa Alpha Psi to work together in our personal and professional efforts to assist the victims of disasters worldwide. Now is the time for us to stand up for those families, women, children and elderly who are in need by giving. This is an honorable endeavor that not only CAN we do but MUST do.

Yours in the Bond,
Thomas L. Battles, Jr.
