Veterans Day 2015

Every year, the nation celebrates Veterans Day to honor the men and women in uniform, who have served our country. Recently, I have met and heard from active military members, veterans and families about how Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. can better serve our members connected to the Armed Forces. I have heard the call and have taken action by forming our Commission on Military and Veterans Affairs. You will hear more about this Commission and the future it will forge for Kappa in the coming months.

National Day of Prayer

Under the leadership of Grand Polemarch Battles, brothers throughout the fraternity have begun implementing KAPPA'S SIX POINT PLAN and the revised membership initiation process. As we begin this work, the Grand Polemarch has declared Sunday, September 27, 2015, as Kappa's National Day of Prayer. All brothers are requested to join a national prayer call on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. (EST).

Louis Stokes (1925 - 2015)

LOUIS STOKES, the first African-American member of Congress from the state of Ohio, transitioned to the Chapter Invisible, Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the age of 90. Retired Congressman Stokes was initiated at the Cleveland State University, January 19, 1948, the Alpha Omega of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. At his death he was a member of the Cleveland Alumni Chapter.

Once again an act of blatant racism has raised its ugly head. Once again people of good will have joined hands in compassion and brotherhood, acknowledging that acts of intolerance is unacceptable in our nation.
